IBF 2026 Convention Heads To Vietnam
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) is honored to announce that our 41st Annual Convention will be held at the distinguished Grand Ho Tram Resort in Vietnam, from May 24 to May 28, 2026. This event represents a major milestone for our organization, as we bring together our global community in one of Asia’s most dynamic and fast-growing regions, to mark our inaugural convention in Southeast Asia. Vietnam offers a dynamic and meaningful backdrop for our gathering blending deep cultural heritage, warm hospitality and international appeal with strong economic growth. These qualities make it an ideal location for this important event.
“We are proud to bring our convention to Vietnam, a country whose story of resilience, growth, and modernization reflects many of the same values that define the sport of boxing,” noted IBF President Daryl Peoples. From its rich historical legacy to its emergence as a global economic and cultural force, Vietnam exemplifies the strength and spirit that continues to inspire athletes and communities around the world.
The annual IBF convention serves as a strategic platform to foster regional collaboration, talent development, and cultural exchange. As part of the program, the event will feature dedicated seminars for referees and judges, focused on enhancing officiating standards, promoting knowledge-sharing, and ensuring consistency across international competitions. A medical seminar, dedicated to addressing athlete health, injury prevention, ringside safety protocols, and the latest advancements in sports medicine is scheduled as well. These sessions play a key role in developing technical expertise and aligning with best practices in the sport.
In addition, a series of social events will offer delegates and participants the opportunity to engage informally, build personal and professional connections, and experience the rich heritage and hospitality of Vietnam. “We look forward to building strong, lasting relationships with our partners in Vietnam, while we continue to deepen our established relationships across Asia and the rest of the world, as we work together to support the continued growth and global recognition of the sport of boxing,” added Mr. Peoples.
“IBF’s Global Convention in Vietnam marks a historic first for the region. It brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and, most importantly, friendships from all corners of the world, all eager to help develop the sport in Vietnam and the wider region with a population of 700 million. It will be awesome! The convention will inspire a new generation of champions, promoters, and officials,” remarked Dr. Lim Song, President of the Vietnam Boxing Organization (VBO).
The Grand Ho Tram (TGHT) is Vietnam’s premier integrated resort and the leading destination for world-class hospitality, entertainment, and events. Just two hours from Ho Chi Minh City, the property is set along a pristine 2.2-kilometer coastline and offers an unparalleled blend of luxury accommodations, a Greg Norman–designed golf course, a state-of-the-art convention center, a world-class casino, spa, dining, and entertainment. Having successfully hosted some major regional and international events like the Lexus Cup and the Asian U17 & U23 Wrestling Championships, this all-in-one venue offers the perfect balance of comfort, functionality, and inspiration for all participants. Its unique combination of modern amenities and serene coastal surroundings creates an environment conducive to both focused professional engagement and relaxed networking. The venue’s comprehensive offerings will ensure a memorable and productive experience for all the IBF convention attendees.
We warmly invite all delegates, partners, and members of the boxing community to join the International Boxing Federation for what promises to be a landmark event in one of the most compelling destinations in Southeast Asia.
