Sadam Ali wins In Comeback

In his comeback fight after a six-year hiatus, former WBO junior middleweight titleholder Sadam Ali defeated Cody Wilson by unanimous decision in a 10-round junior middleweight bout at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, Michigan.

Ali, who hadn’t fought since May 2019, admitted to feeling “a little rusty” initially but settled into the fight as the rounds progressed. He showcased his boxing skills, outclassing Wilson with combinations and movement. Ali focused on body shots and used his craft to control the pace. Wilson, a 31-year-old from West Virginia and a member of the National Guard, demonstrated toughness and aggression, trying to pressure Ali and landing some shots, particularly when Ali backed himself onto the ropes. However, he was unable to overcome Ali’s superior technique and experience. The fight served as a successful return for Ali, who shook off the ring rust and proved he could go the distance. Wilson proved to be a durable opponent. Ali won by unanimous decision with scores of 100-90 on two cards and 99-91 on the third. Ali hinted at further fights following his comeback. Ali improves to 28-3, 14 KOs, while Wilson drops to 14-6, 9 KOs.
