Lady Captain’s Weekly News 31st March 2025

March has flown by with record amounts of rain. We were all relieved to see blue skies over the weekend. We are now into my favourite time in Spain – not too hot and with Easter late we should have a dry drive in for our new Captains – Michael and Svetlana.

The Match-play draw took place in the Clubhouse on Sunday after the Abbeygate Ranking. I would like to compliment Joachim for his computer skills – all very slick and professional.

I am sorry to keep going on about the weather but Tuesday’s competition saw it all ! We started off with blue skies and again ended with thunder, lightening and hail. Some ladies managed to finish 18 holes, but most came in by the 16th/17th, so we made it a nine-hole competition.

This was great fun, many didn’t realise it was medal play!! The majority managed to get to 17th fairway. Thank you to Fatima and the caddy masters for collecting flags and checking with photographic evidence who the winners were.
