Feared UFC star Khamzat Chimaev taken the distance by title contender Jack Hermansson in freestyle wrestling match
UFC phenom Khamzat Chimaev was taken the distance in a freestyle wrestling match before being congratulated by a fan who broke into the cage.
The Chechen-born star faced a middleweight scrap with Jack Hermansson in Sweden, where he trains.
The pair headlined Bulldog Fight Night 9 in Gothenburg, less than three weeks after Chimaev had demolished Li Jingliang at UFC 267.
The 27-year-old star has been flattening recent opponents and his last three bouts have all ended inside a round.
But in Hermansson – and with no striking allowed – he finally found a rival capable of taking him all the way.
The Norwegian still didn’t have enough for victory as he went down 8-0 on points – all of which were scored by Chimaev in a bruising opening round.
And the victor was then congratulated by an over-enthusiastic fan who broke into the cage to celebrate the win.
Chimaev made his UFC debut in July last year and has already established himself as one of the planet’s most fearsome fighters.

UFC fans have been licking their lips over the potential of a Chimaev meeting with Nate Diaz.
Fight supremo Dana White has revealed he is keen on making the fight, although Diaz apparently has other ideas.
And Chimaev has even called out YouTuber-turned-boxer brothers Jake and Logan Paul – posting a bizarre picture of their heads on his wall.
