Armenian freestyle wrestlers win medals in international tournament

An Armenian freestyle wrestling’ team participating in an international tournament in Iran has returned to the country with medals.

The Armenian sportsmen gained advantage over Belarus and Azerbaijan in group competitions, beating the respective countries’ teams 6-4 and 7-1.  But the team lost to Iran (2-8) in the semi-finals. In the fight for the third place, the Armenian freestyle wrestlers defeated Mongolia (8-2).

Gegham Gasparyan was named a champion in an individual category (w/c 65kg). Razmik Papikyan (56kg) and Mher Markosyan (86kg) won the second and third places, respectively.
