SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After the first two Section 2 champions in girls volleyball were crowned on Friday night - Class AA's Columbia and Class D's Mekeel Christian Academy - four section titles were still up for grabs on Saturday at Saratoga Springs High School.

  • Opening the day in Class B, the one-seed, Ichabod Crane, claimed its second consecutive championship, beating sixth-seeded Schalmont, three sets-to-one.
  • In the Class C title game, Galway took home the championship with a three-set sweep of Fonda-Fultonville. Golden Eagles sophomore Kiera Allen tallied her 1000th career kill in the win.
  • The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake dominance in Class A continued, as the Spartans beat Mohonasen, 3-0, to win their 23rd consecutive Section 2 title.
  • The final game of the night was in Class AAA, and for the third season in a row, Shenendehowa beat Saratoga in the championship match. Shen earned their fifth consecutive title with a 3-0 sweep.

Highlights of all four games on Saturday can be seen in the video player above. The six Section 2 champions, as well as Saratoga Springs, will now advance to play in their respective New York State tournaments. The Blue Streaks qualified for the AAA tournament with Section 2 having an at-large bid in that classification.
