Kansas volleyball eager for big week ahead against TCU and K-State

0 9

LAWRENCE (KSNT)- The Kansas volleyball team understands the task ahead with two important Big 12 contests.

No. 14 Kansas will host No. 10 TCU on Wednesday, followed by the Sunflower Showdown Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse against K-State.

The Jayhawks lost to TCU on Oct. 1 3-1, but have since won straight games and are riding momentum into the game.

"We learned a lot from that game. TCU was really aggressive. They served tough, they were attacking very aggressively and we seemed to not like it and were on our heels," KU head coach Matt Ulmer told 27 Sports. "This is a good opportunity for us to see if we can come back and put up the fight we need to."

Following Wednesday, the Jayhawks will host K-State Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse for the Sunflower Showdown.

It will be Kansas' first game at Allen Fieldhouse since 2013.

"I've never lost to them and I'm not planning to lose the last one," senior Rhian Swanson said. "It'll be a fun opportunity to compete in a bigger venue and play them."

KU will play TCU Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. followed by K-State Friday at Allen Fieldhouse at 8:00 p.m.
