Texas volleyball to play 11 home matches including one at Moody Center in 2025
AUSTIN (KXAN) — After announcing some of its high-profile matches in the 2025 season earlier in the year, the Texas volleyball program released its entire schedule Tuesday.
The Longhorns will be in Austin 11 times this upcoming season, with 10 games at their typical campus home, Gregory Gymnasium. Texas opens its home slate Sept. 7 against Stanford at Moody Center, the first volleyball match in the venue's history.
Texas opens the season on the road Aug. 29 and 31 in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Opening Spike Classic, taking on Creighton and Wisconsin. They'll return to Texas to take on Rice at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston before taking over Moody Center against the Cardinal.
The Longhorns take on Louisville in Fort Worth for the Shriners Children's "Showdown at the Net" event Sept. 10, and then there's a 5-match homestand that runs into Southeastern Conference play. Texas hosts Arizona State, TCU and Baylor before kicking off the SEC schedule against Vanderbilt on Sept. 24 and Missouri on Sept. 26.
Other home SEC matches include Oct. 8 against Tennessee, Oct. 17 against Arkansas, Oct. 19 against Oklahoma, Nov. 2 against Kentucky and the season finale Nov. 16 against South Carolina.
The Longhorns face Texas A&M in a spooky Lone Star Showdown on Oct. 31 (Halloween) in College Station.
The SEC volleyball tournament is making a comeback this season and will be Nov. 21-25 at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. The last time the SEC held a postseason volleyball tournament was in 2005.
There are two exhibition games set for Gregory Gym: Aug. 15 against Utah and the Orange/White Scrimmage on Aug. 23.
Texas finished 20-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals, falling to Creighton in four sets.
