[Men's Volleyball] BENU Records First Win Over NCAA D1 Program
Benedictine Mesa, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 15 Poll, bounced back from a five-set loss to No. 3 Ottawa (Ariz.) to beat NCAA D1 UC Irvine 3-2 on Thursday, registering the program's first win over an NCAA Division I team. The Redhawks hit at a .242 clip and had 56 kills in the five sets, led by Landon Fuller's near double-double of 17 kills and nine digs. Simon Joly narrowly missed the mark as well with 13 kills and nine digs. Tyler Watts posted 11 kills and hit for a .588 clip to lead the match. Daxton Tolman and Trevor Medigovich directed the offense combining for 47 assists, finishing with 31 and 16, respectively.
