[Volleyball] Volleyball Splits in Sioux City

Doane Volleyball had a short turnaround following Friday night's match as they traveled to Sioux City to take part in the Morningside triangular. The Tigers opened with a conference match against Morningside, falling in four sets, before rebounding with a three-set victory over Avila.

Morningside won 25-18, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21. They limited the Tigers to 42 kills and a .103 attack percentage. Cassidy Tompkin led Doane with 10 kills with Jaime Renshaw finishing with 26 assists. Doane had 10 ace serves in the match, three from Renshaw and two apiece from MacKenzie Painter, Lillian Parolek, and Harper Case.

Renshaw led the Tigers with 23 digs and Painter added 21 in the match. Doane finished with 3.0 team blocks with Simonie Mendenhall in on two of them.

Doane won 25-23, 25-20, 25-18, over Avila. The Tigers hit .319 from the floor, picking up 37 kills. Kirsten Bures and Taylor Sluka collected 11 kills apiece. Renshaw picked up 29 assists in the match. Painter collected three ace serves as Doane finished with five in the match.

Sophia McKinney and Painter led the back row defense with 13 digs apiece. At the net, the Tigers had 5.0 team blocks with Mendenhall, Bures, and Tompkin collecting two assists blocks apiece.

Doane will be back at home on Friday, September 30, when they play host to Jamestown at 7:30 PM.
