St. Ambrose had eight student-athletes named to 2022 Academic All-District At-Large Teams as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

The at-large teams include student-athletes from the following sports: women's beach volleyball, men's and women's bowling, competitive cheer, competitive dance, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, and men's and women's wrestling.

The St. Ambrose honorees are: Andrea Adam (women's swimming & diving), Megan Hess (women's bowling), Sawyer Mackovitch (competitive cheer), Hunter Northway (men's lacrosse), Morgan Pfohl (competitive dance), Jake Snyder (men's volleyball), Eric Spurgetis (men's golf) and Anna Thorson (competitive cheer).

Andrea Adam is one of the most-decorated student-athletes in school history. A four-time NAIA Women's Outstanding Diver of the Year, Adam won seven national titles in diving and is a nine-time All-American. The senior from Iowa City, Iowa, is working on her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Megan Hess, a senior from Granger, Iowa, was the top bowler on a St. Ambrose team that was ranked No. 9 in the country. She was named an NCBCA first team All-American and an honorable mention bowler of the year. Hess is majoring in Criminal Justice and Philosophy.

Sawyer Mackovitch and Anna Thorson are two All-Americans who helped the SAU Cheer team win the 2022 College Classic National Championship and finish third at this year's NAIA Championships. Thorson, a senior from Streator, Ill., is working on her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, while Mackovitch, a junior from Hickory Hills, Ill., is majoring in Management and Marketing.

Hunter Northway earned first team all-KCAC honors as a faceoff specialist for the SAU men's lacrosse team. He won 230-of-312 faceoffs this year and helped the team qualify for the NAIA National Invitational Tournament. The senior from Ankeny, Iowa, is working on his Master's of Business Administration.

Morgan Pfohl is a three-time competitive dance All-American. The junior from Dubuque, Iowa, helped St. Ambrose to the 2021 NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship and was a member of the national runner-up team in 2022. Pfohl is majoring in Accounting and Marketing.

Jake Snyder was named a second team all-CCAC setter for the men's volleyball team. He is one of just six players in school history to record more than 2500 assists. Snyder, a senior from Mokena, Ill., is pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Eric Spurgetis, a senior from Moline, Ill., earned academic all-district honors for the second straight year. A two-time NAIA National Men's Golf Championship qualifier, Spurgetis posted seven top-10 finishes this year. He is majoring in Accounting and Sport Management.

The eight Bees represent District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. They now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in mid-June.
