[Volleyball] Oaks Sweep Women's Volleyball
ATHERTON, Calif. – Jessica Pinasco tallied eight kills but the Hawks were unable to sweep the season series against Menlo. The Oaks defeated SDCC in straight sets 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.
The loss drops the Hawks to 12-8 on the season and 7-7 in conference play. The Oaks improved to 5-13 and 3-10 respectively.
SDC's first lead of any game came in Set 2. Menlo had an attacking error in the first point of the set giving SDC a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, that was the only lead of the set and Menlo grabbed the second set for a 2-0 advantage.
The best shot the Hawks got to win a set was in Set 3. Trailing 2-0 in the early going, the Hawks rattled off three-straight points. Pinasco registered the first and third points with kills and Emma Honea earned the second point as SDC had a 3-2 lead. Both teams traded points throughout the set. SDC's last lead of the game was 19-18. The Oaks regained the lead at 21-20 and never looked back.
SDC will close out the bay-area trip with a match against William Jessup on Saturday.
