[Volleyball] Hawks put up Valliant Effort in loss at Westmont

0 9

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Hawks went point-for-point with the Westmont Warriors on Saturday night, but came up short losing 3-1 in a hard-fought GSAC battle. The loss moves San Diego Christian College to 12-7 overall and 7-6 in the conference.

The Hawks have come a long way in a short time under Coach Gene Krieger and no one knows that better than perennial powerhouse, Westmont College. San Diego Christian has given the Warriors all they can handle this season, defeating them for the first time since 2005 early on in the season and once again, matching their attack Saturday.

Although they only took one from Westmont, SDCC was in the hunt during every single set. Isabella Marshall continued to demonstrate her abilities leading all attackers on both sides with 16 kills.

Coach Krieger was pleased with the Hawk's performance. "I am so proud of how we fought and represented San Diego Christian College tonight. We played playoff quality volleyball even though we were on the road and lost our starting setter right before the match. We are disappointed that we lost, but celebrated an excellent effort afterward."
