Cavins selected as Navarro’s new volleyball coach

Navarro College named Andy Cavins as its new head volleyball coach Thursday. “We are very fortunate to have Andy join the Bulldog family and lead Navarro Volleyball,” Athletic Director Michael Landers said. “He has a proven track record of success and has shown the ability to build and maintain a national championship caliber program. That is where the bar has now been set for our volleyball program, and we are excited to see the heights that Andy and his team can reach here at Navarro.” Cavins, the all-time winningest volleyball coach at Lindsey Wilson College (LWC), produced an .877 winning percentage (272-38) during his eight-year stay at the Columbia, KY., school. He led the Blue Raiders to eight consecutive NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) National Tournament appearances, including a national title in 2017, two NAIA Fab Fours and four straight national quarterfinal appearances. He guided LWC to eight straight 30-win seasons, including a 33-4 mark in 2018. His 2017 national champions posted a 35-0 record and dropped only five sets during the season.
