Stanford’s Jenne Gray blends volleyball and javelin seamlessly
Playing two sports on the major college level is unusual. Being excellent at both is rare. It’s even rarer when two sports seem to have nothing to do with each other.
Take volleyball and the javelin, for example. Who could possibly be great at both?
Meet Jenna Gray, Stanford’s two-time Pac-12 Setter of the Year in volleyball and an outstanding javelin thrower on the track team.
She and the rest of the top-ranked Cardinal volleyball team are hosting the NCAA Regionals this week as they pursue the program’s eighth national title and second in three years.
The 6-foot-1 junior took second in the NCAA outdoor track and field championships in June with a throw of 188 feet.
