NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (7-18, 5-11 G-MAC) fell to Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Hillsdale College (18-6, 15-0 G-MAC), 3-0 (23-25, 24-26, 22-25) on Friday night in Trojan Fieldhouse.

The Chargers took the first two points before the Trojans tied it at 3-3 … HC extended its lead to four at 8-4, before TNU used a 4-1 run to cut it to 9-8 … HC maintained its four-point lead at 14-10 and 17-13 before TNU came back to tie it at 20-20 after an 8-3 run … TNU opened its first lead 21-20 but back-to-back kills from Hillsdale helped the Chargers close out the first set 25-23 … the Trojans took a 2-1 lead early in the second set … HC used a 4-0 run to lead 5-2 … both teams traded runs before it was tied at 8-8 … both teams went on a 3-0 runs to again be tied at  11-11 … TNU opened a 15-12 advantage after back-to-back attacking errors by HC … the Chargers went on a 4-0 run to lead 16-15 and forced a timeout from the Trojans … TNU fought back and took an 18-17 lead … from there TNU held a 21-20 lead … neither team led by more than one until HC off a kill and then a service ace, 26-24 … in the third set the Trojans led by one at 3-2 and trailed by one at 6-5 before Hillsdale opened up a five-point lead at 11-6 … TNU came within one, down 14-13 and then forced a tie at 18-18 …TNU took its first third set lead at 20-19 … HC tied it at 22-22 and rallied off three straight points to win the set 25-22.

Jordan Sprinkle (SR/Bristow, IN), Madison Martin (FR/Martinsville, IN) and Lydia Yonce (FR/Nashville, TN) all had seven kills … Sprinkle led the trio with a .357 attack percentage … Claire Hindman (FR/Westfield, IN) had a team-high 14 digs … Hannah Bornemann (FR/Oswego, IL) (14) and Leilani Victor (FR/Hudson, WI) (13) contributed the Trojans assists … Victor had the Trojans' only service ace.

TROJAN TEAM TRENDS

Trojans hit .290 (13 K, 4 E, 31 TA) in the third set and produced 33 kills with 27 assists for the match.  

WHAT'S NEXT 

The Trojans celebrate the Senior Day of the lone senior Jordan Sprinkle tomorrow when they host the University of Findlay (18-5, 12-2 G-MAC) at 1 PM.

TNU has never beaten Findlay in the teams' three previous meetings.
