[Volleyball] Boston, Swinicki Named to KCAC Volleyball Preseason Team

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior setter Jana Boston and senior outside hitter Maddy Swinicki have each been named to the KCAC Volleyball Preseason Team, the league released today (Aug. 10).

This preseason nod comes on the heels of Boston and Swinicki each earning all-conference honors in 2017.

The 2016 KCAC Freshman of the Year, Boston was fifth in the league last season in assists (708) and eighth in assists per set (5.5). She also finished third on the Falcons in digs (257).

Swinicki led the Falcons in kills (219) last year despite missing time with an injury. She also ranked third in the KCAC in hitting percentage (.298) and second on the team in total blocks (81).

The Falcons, under 15th year head coach Martin Ayin, will begin the season by competing in the KCAC Fall Fling on Aug. 24-25 in Hutchinson, Kan.

Friends will then welcome in Benedictine College for its home opener on Aug. 28.

The conference opener is set for Sept. 5 at home against KWU.
