[Volleyball] Volleyball Falcons Chosen Eighth in KCAC Preseason Poll

WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Volleyball Falcons have been selected to finish eighth in the KCAC Coaches' Preseason Poll, the league released today (Aug. 8.

The Ottawa University Braves, last season's co-regular season champions, were chosen to win the league this season after receiving eight first-place votes.

Kansas Wesleyan University shared the regular season title last year with Ottawa and have been picked to finish second, receiving four first-place tallies.

McPherson College snagged the other first place nod and came in third in the poll.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University came in fourth, with Tabor College rounding out the top five.

The Falcons, under 15th year head coach Martin Ayin, will begin the season by competing in the KCAC Fall Fling on Aug. 24-25 in Hutchinson, Kan.

Friends will then welcome in Benedictine College for its home opener on Aug. 28.

The conference opener is set for Sept. 5 at home against KWU.

The Falcons are bringing back a slew of returners, including last season's all-conference performers, Madalyn Swinicki and Jana Boston.
