[Men's Volleyball] Chapman earns first NAIA National Defender of the Week honor
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Grand View men's volleyball's Felix Chapman (SO/San Jose De Las Lajas, Cuba) has been named the NAIA National Men's Volleyball Defender of the Week, the National office announced Tuesday. Chapman was selected based on his performances from Jan. 22 – 28, and was chosen out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institution winners.
A sophomore middle blocker from San Jose De Las Lajas, Cuba, Chapman has earned his first national honor as a Viking. In three wins over top-five ranked programs, Chapman compiled 22 total blocks on the week. He had 11 total rejections (10 assisted) in the 3-2 win over No. 2 Missouri Baptist. He averages 1.69 blocks a set on the week and also contributed 43 kills for the Vikings.
The Vikings are in action tonight in Marshall, Missouri as they take on No. 8 Missouri Valley College starting at 7 p.m.
