Roundup: Section II sweeps regional volleyball
Shenendehowa led a charge of five Section II girls' volleyball teams advancing to the state tournament semifinal round with a 3-0 sweep of Section III champion Baldwinsville in its Class AA state regional final on Saturday in Cicero. The Lady Plainsmen, who won by scores of 25-21, 26-24 and 25-17, handed the Bees their first loss of the season to punch a ticket to next weekend's Class AA state final four at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.
More girls' volleyball: Burnt Hills earned its 16th consecutive state final four trip with a 3-0 win over Section III's Oswego in its Class A state regional final. Avery Pollard had 27 assists and three aces for the Spartans, who won by scores of 25-11, 25-18 and 25-20.
