[Volleyball] Cavs Drop Road Contest at JBU

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark.- St. Gregory's (16-12, 6-9 SAC) traveled to and played at John Brown University (24-6, 12-3 SAC) on Tuesday evening, and the Eagles were able to take down the games in three sets 25-14, 25-22, 25-15. The Eagles were very efficent and effective offensively as they 5 players hit over .250, and they had a team attack percentage of .256, while the Cavs hit for just a .134 clip. Besides hitting efficience, there wasn't much of a differnce between the teams on the stat sheet.

Dispite being slightly out-powered by JBU's offense, the Cavs defense performed well by collecting 66 digs as a team, and recorded four total blocks at the net. Kayley Davis (SO/Irving, Texas) and Gabby Ware (JR/San Antonio, Texas) anchored the Cavaliers defense with 18 and 15 digs, respectively. Natasha Rodriguez (SR/Pecos, Texas) finished the match with 9 digs, while Sunny Clark (JR/Dublin, Texas) finished with 8 digs, to go with her team-best 14 assists. Sarah Ahrens (JR/Wichita Falls, Texas) assisted on 12 of the Cavs terminations, and she also added 5 digs to the teams total. Gabby Ware and Courtney Murphy (SR/Tulsa, Okla.) led the SGU offensive attack with 7 kills a piece, while Khyra Echols (FR/Plano, Texas) and Krystal Lopez (SR/El Paso, Texas) each added 6 terminations. 

St. Gregory's will finish up regular season play on Nov. 3, when they head to Muskogee, Okla. to face Bacone College (8-18, 2-13 SAC) at 7 PM.The Cavaliers can lock up a birth in the SAC Playoffs with a win over BC, and they'd likely face either OCU or SAGU in the opening round of play.
