[Volleyball] Dorn Earns First Victory as Lions' Coach

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Vanguard Volleyball season kicked off with a bang Saturday as the Lions (1-0) captured their first win of the season during the opening match again La Sierra (0-1). The 3-1 victory (25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19) gives new head coach JP Dorn her first win as the shepherd of the Blue and Gold. Vanguard owns an 8-0 record against the Golden Eagles dating back to 2005. Juanae Johnson (SR/Santa Monica, CA) led the way for the Lions gathering a .320 attack percentage along with 12 kills. Shaylen Larson-Piper (JR/Elizabeth, CO) posted a match high 13 kills.
