Yearly Training Hours

2016 was a busy year. I raced a lot and I traveled more than I ever have in a year.  I got married and bought my first house.  I was self coached like almost every single year since I started triathlon back in 2010.  I trained less hours this year vs. last year (2015) and surprisingly I had my best year yet.  Most people would automatically think that I increased my training intensity this year but it's just the opposite.  I trained with a lot less intensity this year vs. last year.  I think a lot of people train too hard and do too much speed.  However every person is individual and respond differently.  The most important thing is to figure out what works best for you.




Swimming hours: 263. (Last year 277 hours) Yardage: 887,260.

Cycling hours: 536. (Last year 556 hours)

Running hours: 231. (Last year 216 hours) Miles: 2045

Total: 1030 hours. (Last year 1050 hours)

Average training week: 19:35 hours
