Kent Grand Prix series

This is administered by Kent County Athletics Association (KCAA) and 44 Clubs are included (4 tri clubs). It’s a series of 9 road races that KCAA choose, one per month, Jan to Oct, every year.

Our very own half marathon was the choice in 2025 and again in 2026. Here’s the full 2025 list:
Canterbury 10, Deal HM, Dartford HM, Kent Spring Half, Ted Pepper 10k, High Elms 10k, North Downs 30k, Sevenoaks 7, Faversham 10k, Ashford Givaudan 10k.

When people run one of the Grand Prix events, they are awarded points individually and for their Club, dependant on their finish position in each event.
Scoring
Individuals – the best six races from the 10 events count.
Teams – best 8 from 10 count.
And
Male – The top six men in each team from each race count for the team standings.
Female – The top four ladies in each team count from each race for the team standings.
(that takes some working out).
Also within it are team placings for men and women, and age groups.
SO – while I’ve been poking around, I’ve discovered that:

• Deal Tri female team came 6th overall
• Our 1st female and top FV45 is Abbie Kirkham
• Our 1st Senior is Phoebe Ward, followed by Verity Hodges and Holly Rye
• Our 1st FV35 is Sophie Garton, then Lisa Buckler and Katie Hinkins
• Our 1st FV45 is Abbie Kirkham, then Anita Pollard and Alena Smith (great relay team too!)
• 1st FV55 is Jill Cliff, then Tina Barton and Maria Harrington
• Deal Tri male team came 11th overall
• Our 1st Senior male and 1st male overall is Toby Smith, followed by James Wisbey and Richard Devereaux (there’s still an error on Toby’s record, I’m sorting it out – he’s also recorded as Toby Mith!)
• Our 1st MV40 is Lee Gavin, then Stuart Phillips and Edward Dunderdale
• Our 1st MV50 is Mark Baker followed by Stuart Comlay and Rich Heath
• Our 1st MV60 is Mark Baldock, then Martin O’Grady and Andy Russell
• And holding the whole table up is Dave Martin, our one and only M70!

So in 2026, let’s aim for a bit more presence in this competition.
