Deal Castle 5-mile 2025 Race

Despite the start to the day with grey sky’s and rain it finished very differently with blue sky’s and sunshine to welcome our 259 runners over the finish line who took part in the 2025 Deal Castle 5-mile race.

We welcomed 10 more Deal Tri members to this years race with some great performances.

Congratulations to the overall winner Toby Smith who also took the club record which was held by Phil Anthony for 20 years in an amazing time of 00:25:35 he was also around 3 minutes faster than his nearest rival. Leading our ladies home for the club was Abbie Kirkham who finished first in age with a time of 00:33:15. Well done also, to Ashley Robert-Moyles who took the male senior price in 00:30:36.

Junior 1500m Run

The true stars of this morning events would have to be the 30 juniors who ran the 1500m in somewhat challenging and very wet conditions and most of them crossed the finish line with a great big smile. We had 2 of our juniors racing they were Gryffin Messenger who came 3rd place overall in 00:06:31 and Macy Godden was 4th overall and winning the 9/10yrs category in 00:06:34.

I would like to take this opportunity in thanking all our wonderful marshals without you the race would not have been able to take place. Thanks also, to all that helped with setting up in the rain and taking down in the sunshine!
