Gravelines Duathlon 29th June

Ed Crockett did us proud returning to Gravelines in Northern France at the weekend, this time in the Duathlon, and finishing 5th in his age group.
Great turnout of competitors and 400 volunteers, part of the Chtriman festival of triathlon Sprints, Standard, Middle distance and full Iron distance races, plus Duathlon and Aquabike, and junior races too.
Weather not too hot (how did you manage that, we were cooking here!) but he still suffered on the 2nd run with a bike time slightly slower than when we did the Half two years ago, but nevertheless only got beaten on the bike leg by the winner of his age group, so not bad at all!!
Great event, nice medal and a great challenge!
One to think about for next year as a group thing?? Quite a few of us have raced here in the past, it’s a fantastic event.
