Inter Club Relays – Round 3 – Ashford – 10 June 2025

It felt like Turbo Tuesday today!

Nearly 40 Deal Tri Club members took part in this increasingly competitive tournament, this time hosted by Ashford and District Running Club, assisted by Ashford Striders.
It was a warm evening and hot competition, a looped run round Victoria Park.
Deal Tri put in 2 Senior Male teams for the first time, both finishing top 10 and the A team finishing in a dead heat in 4th. We are lucky to have 3 teams in the V50 Male age group, who finished 5th (just over 2 seconds after the first finishers), 8th and 15th, respectively. The V60 Male A team came 2nd with the B team chasing them down just 6 seconds later.
In the female teams, the Seniors came in a very creditable 7th, in a very fast field. The V35 women came home in 8th, with strong runs. The V45 A team consolidated their position, finishing first, supported by the V45 B team in 7th. The V55 A team finished in a very tight 3rd place, with the V55 B coming in 6th and the V55 C team in 9th.
Special mentions to Louise Moore for running on her birthday and Annette Nixon for providing the cake! Also Margaret Reidy, Dave Martin and Dave Mitchell, who were our first mixed gender team.

This Club have an incredible team spirit, endlessly supportive and generous in their encouragement of their team colleagues and runners from other Clubs.
