Saturday = parkrun day!

Here’s a quick whizz round our local parkruns where Deal Tri members took part.

Thirty six took advantage of the beautiful conditions at our local course Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun, several wearing their TCS London Marathon Finisher shirts (might have been wearing them all week!). This is the only course in the UK that has 2 castles on the route

Nine members enjoyed the route at Dover Waterfront parkrun, a lovely flat, seafront course, the only one in the UK that goes up a pier!

Two members made it to Pegwell Bay parkrun, another flat, out and back course by the sea – we are spoilt round here

If you want to take part in parkrun but aren’t really a runner, every parkrun has parkwalkers as part of the volunteer team. The role is specifically to walk the course, to promote the benefits of it and meet new people along the way.

Watch the video below of the start at Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun this morning and you’ll see a lady in a bright blue vest, waving – she was today’s parkwalker. There are also always 1 or 2 people at the back of every parkrun called Tail Walkers, in the orange vests Their job is to follow the last participants and to come in last!

So if you interested in knowing more, just come to your local parkrun to find out more – it’s free

(Thank you to Stephen for the video)
