Pool Swimming
Except when we hire the lanes (Monday nights), we are swimming in public sessions, and need to be mindful of other users.
To ensure everyone enjoys lane swimming, please adhere to the following:
- Swim in a lane appropriate to your swimming ability/speed. – in UL further over lanes are the fastest.
- Follow the direction of the lane boards and swim in single file. This will help to prevent accidents and ensure the lane moves freely.
- Allow faster swimmers to pass you at the end of each length. This reduces the chances of collisions when over taking mid-length. If you are continually being passed please consider moving to a slower lane.
- If resting at the end of the lane, make sure other swimmers have room to turn. Don’t block the lane chatting.
- If using aids – paddles, kick boards or pull buoys consider moving to a slower lane temporarily so you do not hinder others swimming full strokes.
- Follow any instructions given by the lifeguards or ULStaff
