Rafael Nadal has announced that he’s shutting himself down for the remainder of the 2021 season due to his ongoing foot injury, thus ruling him out of the U.S. Open.
“During the last year I was not able to practice and prepare the way I need to be competitive at the standards I want to be,” Nadal said in a video posted on Instagram.
Nadal is currently No. 4 in the ATP world rankings.
