Hello Friends,

The pictures tell the story. There’s nothing doing this morning at Dee Why, nor indeed for the rest of the Northern Beaches.

We have an unlovely combination of dull, grey skies, a 20 kt south wind and 1.2 metres of 4-second period southerly chop.

The Goat was rather sanguine about the coming week’s surf prospects, but he was not utterly despairing. Mind you, I have never known him to be even vaguely despairing. He is indomitably easy-going in fact.  So, in that spirit, I had a look at the swell models this morning and I have to say, it appears that today is the nadir and tomorrow we may well have a few little bumps to mess about with. The at-least-a-little-bit surfable mornings could persist into the front half of next week.  On that cautiously hopeful note, I leave you to your Friday.

Weather Situation

Fresh north to northeasterly winds from high pressure over the Tasman Sea, followed by a southerly change during the morning as a trough that is expected to move up the NSW coast, stalling about the Mid North Coast. Winds are forecast to turn north to northeasterly ahead of a series of trough approaching the coast during Saturday and Sunday. By Monday, winds turn easterly to southeasterly as a trough crosses the coast.
