Sunny day ahead
Hello Friends,
Another chilly and beautiful Sydney morning, but if you wanted waves, well, that required dialing down your expectations to 1. You’ll be doing well to find something in the knee to thigh-high range at a magnet spot. The MHL buoy was detecting a metre of 9-second ESE energy and wind was out of the west at 9-13 kts as of 0830.
The marine forecast tells us that we can expect the wind to swing SE this afternoon and then stay that way through lunchtime tomorrow before going NE. They also expect the swell size to bump up a little in the morning from the east. Weather call is for showery conditions too, so kind of a “hmm, maybe” day in prospect. The swell models show the periods staying around the 7-9 second range through to the weekend. So, nothing too impressive in store for us.
Have yourself a top old day!
Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends across the southern waters, while a trough lies along the northern waters, moving eastward bringing south to southeasterly winds. Winds turning west to southwesterly along the remainder of coast this morning before shifting south to southeasterly during Sunday afternoon. High pressure remains over the coast into early next week until a southerly change moves up the coast late Wednesday due to a cold front.
