Little waves and windy

0 0

Hello Friends,

The grey skies are with us again and the wind has been blowing NNW since around 0100, as of 0730 it was 11-17 kts. Out at sea, the MHL buoy was detecting 1.1 metres of 13.3 second SSE swell. As the pictures indicate, that wasn’t enough to make the point work, but there were little things in the waist to maybe chest high range up toward the pole and the lagoon. Surface conditions were clean too. The GFS model and the Bureau’s forecasts are both indicating a brief spike into the overhead range at south magnets tomorrow morning, but they’ll be accompanied by stiff S-SE wind and a 95% chance of rain… Friday doesn’t look any better really, but maybe Saturday morning we’ll have some remnant swell and ok winds for the early – maybe. The picture is pretty complicated on the charts, so I’m hoping the Goat may be able to shed a little light on the situation for us when he drops his week-ahead forecast tomorrow.

Have a great Wednesday!

A cold front is forecast to enter southern coastal waters in the early afternoon and reaching the Illawarra in the late evening. This front will bring a strong and gusty southerly wind change in its wake. The front will continue to move north along the north coast on Thursday and may deepen to a coastal low off the north coast on Friday.
