Surfable lumpiness for Sunday morning

0 8

Hello Friends,

A gloomy, drizzly start to Sunday along the beaches, but there were waves of a sort. Wind was SSE 10-17 kts, so surface conditions were less than marvellous. Set wave faces looked to be in the shoulder high range on the biggest ones at Dee Why. Out at sea the swell was 1.7 metre from the SSE at 8 seconds apart. Tide hit a swampy 2 metre peak at 0935.

The swell models are telling us to expect today to end up being the peak energy level for the next four day and then on Friday the southerly hits and we then head into the weekend with building swell – and wind. Or at least that’s the forecast for now. We shall see…

Have a great day and take the mask with you. Omicron’s here.

Weather Situation

Southerly winds prevailing across the coast will gradually turn east to northeasterly today and early new weak as a high pressure system over the Bight moves east and enters the southern Tasman Sea by this evening. Then a southerly wind change will move across the coast during Tuesday and Wednesday next week as a cold front slips south of the state.
