Blowy and near flat Tuesday

0 11

Hello Friends,

No surf at Dee Why today, unless you’re super keen for something in the ankle to knee high range. It was clean before 0900, but the Bureau warns that it’ll go southerly 25-30kts this afternoon. At the same time the swell should start to come up pretty dramatically. At report time, the swell was 1.6m at 9s from the SSE, but the forecast says we can expect south swell into the 3m range by dusk. Weather was fine early, but there’s a 90% chance of showers, the odd thunderstorm and even some small hail.

A day for other things.

Tomorrow morning might be a different story – if the wind gets some SW tilt. Swell should still be in the 2m range, so south magnets could come into play… The models still show the swell fading rapidly on Wednesday and getting back to small to very small for Thursday and Friday.

Go well, stay safe, and mask up when you’re out and about!

Weather Situation

A cold front will bring a strong southwesterly change across northern New South Wales waters today. After this, a low pressure system is expected to develop well offshore, reinforcing a vigorous southerly flow along all New South Wales waters. Winds are expected to ease later on Wednesday as the low moves away to the east and a high pressure system near the Bight pushes a ridge across the state.
