Beginner day

0 7

Hello Friends,
Beautiful autumn morning along the beaches but barely a skerrik of a wave to be had. Bomb sets are struggling to make the knee mark at Dee Why – which is what you’d expect when swell at sea is 0.7 metres at 13 seconds from the SSE.
As of 0900 the wind was coming from the north at a faint 2 knots. It will pick up though and by this afternoon the Bureau says to expect 15-20 kts. There’s no real prospect of an improvement to the wave energy today, so what you see is what you get folks.
Tomorrow should see a tiny uptick in swell energy from the NE and thereafter a gradual increase to around the 1.5-2m mark at 10 seconds from the east by Thursday. Morning sessions look to be lightly wind textured and getting steadily more around to the SW and west by the end of the week.
So, not an exciting outlook, but at least a modestly improving one.
Happy Easter Sunday to all who mark the day.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge across New South Wales. A trough looks set to bring a southerly change to the southern coast later today, and then weaken on Monday, as a low pressure system forms off the Queensland coast. This low is forecast to track south to southeast during the week, possibly generating strong winds and large waves, particularly about the northern coast.
