Sunday morning with waves for Dee Why

0 8

Hello Friends,

It looks somewhat bumpy, but there are waves to be had at Dee Why. Size is down from yesterday, but I saw shoulder to maybe head plus sets at the point and a touch bigger just up the beach from the point. The MHL buoy showed energy from the east of 2 metres at 9-10 seconds. Tide is dropping to the low at 0925. High will arrive at 1520. Beachwatch is warning that pollution is possible at all Sydney beaches. With luck we’ll get enough sunshine today to knock down the viral and bacterial load that will have spiked significantly with all the run-off. You definitely don’t want to get in if you have any open wounds.

The swell models show the energy swinging more SE during the day and then staying that way for tomorrow. The size and period are projected to stay about the same as they are now. The good news, at least on the swell energy front, is that there should be waves all week. Right now it looks as though Thursday could see an uptick into bigger southerly conditions.  Wind will be out of the southerly quarters, with morning sessions offering the best quality – as usual.

Your corespondent will be going back into postcard mode from Thursday as I have to be in California through to April.

Have a good Sunday!
