The Manchester United hero, 36, pulled off the incredible piece of skill with 62 minutes on the clock in West London.

CRISTIANO RONALDO had fans in meltdown after his ‘surreal’ chest pass to help set up Mason Greenwood’s goal at Brentford.

Scott McTominay clipped the ball through the midfield into Ronaldo who had acres of space just into the Bees half.

And he contorted his shoulders and upper body to redirect it, playing the perfect through ball for compatriot Bruno Fernandes.

He raced clear and selflessly squared for Greenwood to tap in for 2-0, which proved to be United’s winner.

And supporters on Twitter were in awe of the ingenuity from Ronaldo.

One said: “That chest-controlled pass from Cristiano Ronaldo to Bruno Fernandes is surreal.”

Another wrote: “Ronaldo’s chest has done more than Lionel Messi’s feet in 2022.”

A third added: “That’s how to play and link with Ronaldo, the man is genius. That chest pass by Ronaldo to Bruno, ball of the night. All magic, all class.”

And a final user commented: “That chest pass from Cristiano Ronaldo is stupendous.”

After a tough first half, goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and sub Marcus Rashford eventually saw off the impressive Bees, who grabbed a late consolation through Ivan Toney.

However, Ronaldo came in for plenty of stick for his grumpy sulk when he was subbed off.

Manager Ralf Rangnick said: “Ronaldo said, ‘Why me, why did you take me off?’ I said I had to make the decision for the team, for the club.

“Maybe in a few years, when he is a coach, he will understand. I didn’t expect him to hug me after being subbed.

“I know how goal-scoring players think and how they tick, but I have to make my decisions in the interest of the team. I have no issue whatsoever with Cristiano.

“I told him we were 2-0 up, and we have to learn lessons from Villa Park. After that game, I was angry with myself for not changing to a back five.

“I didn’t want to make the same mistakes again.”
