Invicta FC has undergone some major changes.

Executives announced on Thursday that the all-women’s MMA promotion has been sold to Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc – media company owner of AXS TV, Fight Network, IMPACT Wrestling and Game+, among others.

With the sale, the promotion will no longer stream on UFC Fight Pass and will now broadcast live on Anthem-owned AXS TV in the U.S. and Fight Network in Canada. The change kicks in on Friday, May 21 with Invicta FC 44, which is set to host a championship fight.

Invicta FC founder and president Shannon Knapp joins Anthem’s executive team as a senior member of the sports media group and will continue work with promotion moving forward.

“This is a huge moment for Invicta and for women in the sport,” Knapp stated. “Invicta FC was founded to give female mixed martial artists a platform where they could compete and prove the doubters wrong.

“Now, as part of the Anthem portfolio and with shows on national television for the first time, Invicta’s platform will be bigger than ever, and more people will have the opportunity to see the world’s elite female athletes compete. With Anthem’s backing, it’s going to be easier than ever for our fans to catch all the Invicta action and for new fans to find out exactly why Invicta is one of the world’s most exciting fight promotions.”

Invicta FC was founded in 2012. Over the last nine years, the promotion has hosted over 400 fights across Invicta’s 46 events, featuring some of the most prominent names in women’s MMA. The promotion previoulsy served as the home of fighters such as Amanda Nunes, Rose Namajunas, Cris Cyborg, Michelle Waterson, Carla Esparza, Megan Anderson, and many others.
