Video: Can Megan Anderson become part of the history of massive UFC title upsets?

0 4

Megan Anderson has a fairly monumental task in front of her Saturday.

If Anderson (10-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is to become a UFC champion, all she has to do is take down the woman considered the best to ever do it in women’s MMA: Amanda Nunes (20-4 MMA, 13-1 UFC).

Not only is Nunes a simultaneous two-division champion at bantamweight and featherweight, but she’ll be a massive 14-1 favorite against Anderson in their 145-pound title fight at UFC 259, which takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.

In the history of UFC title fight upsets, there have been some big ones – like Holly Holm’s knockout of Ronda Rousey and Matt Serra’s stoppage of Georges St-Pierre. But Anderson’s would be the biggest yet in terms of betting lines.

Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of “Gorgeous” George Garcia, Brian “Goze” Garcia and Nolan King broke down some of the biggest title fight upsets in history on this week’s episode alongside moderator Simon Head.

You can watch that discussion in the video above. The full episode can be seen below.
