Dubliner McGregor has always denied any wrongdoing

One is suing the Dublin fighter over an alleged assault, while the other is taking a personal injury action against him.

A male associate is also listed as a co-defendant in the case.

The nature of the allegations made in the lawsuits cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.

However, the case is understood to be connected to an incident that occurred a couple of years ago.

The matter was previously the subject of an extensive investigation by the Gardai but the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution decided not to bring any charges.

Dubliner McGregor has always denied any wrongdoing and has vowed to fight the two lawsuits.

ALLEGATIONS REJECTED

He hired renowned New Jersey PR firm Evergreen Partners Inc in 2019 to help mend his bad boy image.

In a statement, its boss Karen J Kessler today insisted: “After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardai which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses’ statements, examining closed circuit footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected.”

She added: “Mr McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail.”

The women now have a year to file papers against the fighter.

They are being represented by Coleman Legal Partners, a firm which specialises in personal injury and medical negligence.

Partner Dave Coleman said: “Proceedings have been served. We can make no further comment as the matter is before the courts.”

McGregor is being represented by Michael J Staines & Company, one of the country’s leading law firms.

STAR’S DIAMOND WATCH

The father-of-two is estimated to be worth £132million, with US money magazine Forbes estimating that he earned £35million in the twelve months to May 2020 from winnings and endorsements.

Following several retirements, McGregor will return to the Octagon in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday.

He’ll take on against American Dustin Poirier, who he defeated in under two minutes in 2014. It will be his first fight in a year.

The controversial star has often been in trouble with the law. In 2018 he escaped with a slap on the wrist for an infamous attack on other MMA stars on a bus in Brooklyn, US. The former two-weight world champion faced three charges of assault and one charge of criminal mischief over the incident that left some of the shaken stars bleeding.

He was only found guilty of disorderly conduct and sentenced to five days of community service and ordered to take one to three anger management classes.

In 2019 he was fined £890 by Dublin District Court for punching a man in the face in a south Dublin pub.

The court heard that McGregor had 18 previous convictions, the majority of which were in relation to road traffic offences.

However, he had a previous assault conviction from 2009 when he was an apprentice plumber.

And last September he was arrested for alleged sexual assault and indecent exposure at bar on the island of Corsica. He has denied any wrongdoing in the case.
