Tony Ferguson a slight favorite over Charles Oliveira in early odds, but ‘Do Bronx’ already getting heavy bets

At UFC 256 in December, former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson looks to bounce back from his first loss in eight years when he faces streaking contender Charles Oliveira.

The fight came together when Ferguson asked the UFC to book him before the end of the year, and Oliveira accepted the opportunity with an eye on extending his current seven fight winning streak; the Brazilian has picked up finishes in all seven bouts.

The opening odds for the Dec. 12 fight have Ferguson listed as the favorite, but there’s already been an interesting twist since betting began.

According to oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag, Ferguson opened as a -180 favorite with Oliveira coming back as a +155 underdog. That means a bettor would have to wager at least $180 to win back $100 on Ferguson.

But since the opening lines were first revealed, wagers have been placed rather heavily in Oliveira’s favor, which has now forced a change to the overall lines. Here’s the current update:

Those lines are likely to shift again as the fight draws nearer with additional action being placed once UFC 256 is just days away.
