Watch stony-faced Khabib shut down reporter over Conor McGregor as he says ‘I don’t want to talk about this s***’

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV was in no mood to talk about Conor McGregor after being asked about his rival ahead of his fight against Justin Gaethje.

The UFC lightweight champion – who defends his belt for the third time this weekend – shut down ESPN reporter Stephen A. Smith after he mentioned the Notorious’ name.

Khabib beat the Irishman in October 2018 after submitting him in the fourth round, but the 32-year-old has constantly been asked about a rematch.

And after Smith posed the question as to why he doesn’t want to fight him, Khabib let him know he wasn’t interested.

Appearing on First Take, Smith said: “A lot of times, particularly in the fight game, you talk about giving the people what they want to see.

“One of the things I said last week talking about you, sir, was that you really, really don’t want to fight somebody like Conor McGregor again – primarily because you don’t like him and you think fighting him again gives him attention that you don’t believe he deserves. How accurate is that?”

To which a stony-faced Khabib replied by saying: “Right now, even I don’t want to talk about this s***.”

However in a recent interview, Khabib did state he would face McGregor for a second time, but only if he beats Dustin Poirier at lightweight instead of welterweight.

He said: “If he beats him (Poirier) in 155, it makes sense. But if they fight in 170, how can you fight in 170 and then next fight be in 155.

“They want to make everything easy. If you want to take it the easy way, you will never deserve another title shot.

Khabib has won all 12 of his fights in UFC since his first bout in 2012

“Remember before I fought him, I said ‘I am going to make you humble and I am going to put you on the line’ and now after two years people understand my words.

“I am going to put him on the line and I am going to make the decision. If he fights 170, bye bye.”

McGregor has insisted he was winning in his bout against Khabib before tapping out.

Taking to social media, he claimed: “Round 1’s mine. Out struck 3-1. Elbow, knees, clatters! He held on.

“Two is his but I land multiple knees. One from standing after the overhand, and one from bottom into the eye socket at kimura attempt.

“Not a scratch end of round also. I won round three, and four until the trip.”
