Cordero, who leads the White Sox in relief appearances this season, can appeal the suspension and won’t have to serve it until the process is completed. As of now it’s not known whether Cordero will appeal the suspension or not.
Regardless of when and how long the suspension is for Cordero, it will be during the regular season. So, he should be available next week for the start of the playoffs.

And well, following the beaning incident Renteria of course denied there was any intent from Cordero.
Renteria said the ball got away from Cordero, said he did not see Contreras’ bat flip, and added that the White Sox bullpen did not have the arms to spare for purpose pitches

But, you know, no pitcher has ever hit anyone on purpose…
