WATCH: Michael Irvin thinks the Cowboys should sign Antonio Brown

0 5

The Cowboys season has gone downhill after a 3-0 start versus a few of the NFL’s worst teams.

Now on a three-game losing streak including, most recently, a two-point loss to the previously winless Jets, things are dire in Dallas (3-3) as the team prepares to host its rival, the Philadelphia Eagles (3-3).

Just how desperate are the Cowboys? Well, not speaking for the franchise itself, former wide receiver Michael Irvin suggested that the team sign Antonio Brown to help resurrect the season.

In an interview with 105.3 TheFan in Dallas, Irvin said “Where we find help? I don’t care. I don’t care about media relations or a public-relations nightmare. Maybe we should just go pick him up for a week or two.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said this week that the league’s “still working,” on its investigation into Brown and claims of sexual harassment and rape.

The seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver signed with the Oakland Raiders during the offseason after requesting a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers (amid reports that his relationship with the locker room and the franchise was deteriorating). After a rocky spring and summer with the Raiders, which included grievances filed to the NFL after the WR missed team activities as he refused to wear an NFL-standard helmet, Oakland released Brown. The New England Patriots signed Brown, played him in one game, then released him following the claims of sexual misconduct and crime during Week 3, which prompted the NFL’s investigation.

Brown initially seemed to announce his retirement on social media after his stint with the Pats, but has since asked for the 6-0 team to give him his job back.
