Arsenal predicted XI as Emery turns to big guns for crucial Wolves clash after shock loss

0 3

UNAI EMERY is expected to pull out all the stops as Arsenal look to get their top-four hopes back on track with a win over Wolves.

The Gunners are  fifth in the Premier League table after Sunday’s shock 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Emirates.

Predicted line-up for Arsenal’s showdown with Wolves at Molineux

But Aaron Ramsey will miss the match after he injured his hamstring during the Europa League win over Napoli.

And the club confirmed Denis Suarez is also unavailable as he continues his recovery from a groin problem.

Granit Xhaka could be back in the starting XI after missing the defeat by the Eagles with a hip injury.

He is expected to be assessed before the match, but long-term absentees Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck will remain on the sidelines.

Sokratis is back after serving his suspension, so it is predicted that he will start at the back alongside Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac would start out wide, with Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in midfield.

Mesut Ozil would start behind the club’s top two scorers – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Another option for Unai Emery would be to start Alex Iwobi just behind Aubameyang

Alternatively, another option for Emery would be to start fan favourite Carl Jenkinson at the back with Sokratis, Koscielny and Mavropanos.

Kolasinac and Torreira would be in the middle with Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan behind Aubameyang.

Arsenal need to pick up three points to pile the pressure on top-four rivals Chelsea and Tottenham and to move them clear of Manchester United.
