Los Angeles Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz will undergo surgery on his pitching elbow Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined until the second half of the season.
The Dodgers announced Monday that Diaz will have the surgery at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in the Los Angeles area to remove loose bodies from his right elbow.
