CAGD suspends salaries of over 2,500 public workers for dodging headcount

The Controller and Accountant General rsquo;s Department has suspended the salaries of 2,563 public sector workers who failed to participate in a nationwide headcount exercise. The decision follows recommendations from the Auditor General after the affected employees did not present themselves during the verification exercise carried out in 2025 across various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
