American Goetz wins women's 1,000m at speed skating World Cup

WARSAW, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. skater Kimi Goetz stormed to the top of the podium of the women's 1,000m, as the International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup held in Poland's Tomaszow Mazowiecki entered its final day on Sunday.

Goetz, who completed the race in 1:16.00, beat World Cup ranking leader and pre-race favorite Miho Takagi (1:16.18) from Japan and Brittany Bowe (1:16.43), who is also from
