[Softball] Allgeier hits walk-off to keep Tigers rolling

Chaselyn Allgeier's single up the middle scored Hannah Howes with the winning run, giving Georgetown College a 5-4 victory in eight innings over Shawnee State in an elimination game of the Mid-South Conference Softball Championships here Saturday morning.

Georgetown stays alive in the loser's bracket and plays again Saturday at 4 p.m. against the winner of Campbellsville University and the University of Pikeville.

Howes drew a two-out walk and Cassidy Janes singled to right before Allgeier's grounder through the middle got past the pitcher and into centerfield. Howes scored easily on the play, ending what was an ugly game for the Tigers, who pounded out 14 hits but stranded nine baserunners and committed four errors, leading to all four Shawnee State (24-24) runs.
